Robert had voluntarily enlisted with the Canadian Air Force and was taking flight training out of Prince Albert Saskatchewan.
Unfortunately he lost his life in a drowning accident at Waskesiu Lake in The Prince Albert National Park.
He succumbed to a seizure while swimming with his twin brother, LAC Ralph M. Hendrix, and fellow American students; LAC S.M. Bedford of Florida and LAC W. Alsworth of Texas.∼From the Commonwealth War Graves Commission:
